At Pisac you can see magnificent Inca remains, the ancient architecture and engineering of the Inca temples is breathtaking and will sweep you off your feet. Our guided tour of Pisac takes about 2 hours, before we head back to the valley to visit the most colorful and traditional local market in Pisaq. Here you can buy traditional textiles at low prices. After our visit to the market our sightseeing continues and we drive along the beautiful Sacred Valley. This area was the breadbasket of the Incas and still produces large amounts of corn on the Inca terraces. Our next destination is Urubamba, where we´ll arrive at about 13.00 pm to enjoy lunch (not included) in one of the local restaurants. From Urubamba it´s just 30 minutes to get to the last Inca ruins known as Ollantaytambo (Inca palace). This site was built with pink granite rocks and is another impressive example of Inca craftmanship. Here you can see the second biggest rock from the Inca’s time (90 tons) which was used as part of the Temple of the Sun. After your tour you have extra time to wander around the site before you will have dinner in any one of the local restaurants. In the evening you will head to the train station which is around 15 minutes to walk, your train will depart at 7.00 pm to Aguas Calientes, which will be a 2 hour journey.

Day 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Today is the most important day, as we will be visiting Machu Picchu. Because it’s so special, we encourage you to wake up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then get to the bus station to try to catch one of the first buses, which begin at 5.30 am (they are all first come first serve). This bus will take about 25 minutes to get to Machu Picchu. As soon as you arrive to the complex, it is our job to take you to the best spot to overlook all the ruins and get a panoramic view of the landscape and the sunrise over the mountains. There will be a rendezvous to observe the sunrise (if weather allows) in order to get a spectacular view of the Lost City of the Incas. You will then have a 2 hour guided tour around Machu Picchu, with plenty of free time afterwards to explore on your own. If you have tickets to climb the amazing mountain of Huaynapicchu, your guide will direct you to where this hike begins. Please make sure this is arranged at least a month in advance of your visit, as tickets do sell out. It is 25 USD per person. Once you are done with exploring all, what Machu Picchu has to offer, you will take a bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Then we will take an afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo and from there the bus to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel.

INCLUDED / NOT INCLUDED

INCLUDED / NOT INCLUDED:

INCLUDED:

Pick up from your Hotel in cusco

Confortable bus for Sacred Sacred Valley tour

Tour guide for the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu

Tourist class expedition train to Aguas Calientes

Hotel accommodation in Aguas Calientes

Breakfast at the hotel

Bus transport to Machu Picchu

Entrance fee to Machupicchu

Guided tour for 2 hours in Machu Picchu

Plenty of free time in Machu picchu

Return bus to Aguas Calientes

Tourist class train to Ollantaytambo

Bus transportation to Cusco and to your hotel

Assistance of the company

NOT INCLUDED:

Huayna Picchu climb (book it in advance, $25 per person) / Machu Picchu Mountain ($20 per person)

Tourist ticket only for sacred valley 70 Soles

Meals

WHAT TO BRING

WHAT TO BRING:

Original Passport

Small daypack or small suitcase ( do not bring big suit case due to train luggage weight controls)

Comfortable clothes and appropriate footwear (hiking boots or sandals recommended)

Extra money to purchase souvenirs, such as handicrafts from the local market

Camera with spare batteries

Sunscreen

Insect repellent

Water to drink

Sunglasses

Scarf or a hat to protect your head from the strong sun, which can cause sunstroke

A warm jacket for the evening

Any necessary medication

RECOMMENDATIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS:
IN CUSCO

If you wish to visit the whole sacred Valley and Around cusco, it is better to buy the 10 day tourist tickets for 130 Soles. You have in Cusco also access to other attractions and museums.

IN MACHU PICCHU

The climb to the SUN GATE is always available and free. This is a nice place with a view of Machu Picchu. If you prefer HUAYNAPICCHU with its dramatic views, this must be booked in advance and costs 25 dollars per person. The climb takes 45 minutes and is moderately difficult. The other option is the MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAIN, 1.5 hours steep climb, very demanding and $ 20 per person. This is probably the most spectacular of all views, but all three options are very nice and will allow you to make very good photos.

As the weather is very cold and damp, your clothes, even wet, will not dry at night. Therefore bring enough spare clothes.

PRICE REDUCTION:
Groups of more than 5 people have a discount, Students with a valid international student card and Children under 17 years old. You must show their identity card or passport at time of booking

PRICE

SACRED VALLEY AND MACHUPICCHU 2D/1N ( Price in USD / Tren Expedition)

Room Single

Room Double

Room triple

Hotels

U$$ 1445

U$$ 970

U$$ 920

Hotels 5*****: Santuary lodge / Tren vistadome

U$$ 705

U$$585

U$$565

Hotels 5*****: Sumaq / tren Expedition o Inca rail

U$$ 570

U$$ 560

U$$ 550

Hotels 4****: Hatun anti boutique / Casa del sol Machupicchu

U$$ 385

U$$ 375

U$$ 375

Hotels 3*****:Flower house machupicchu / Inti punku tambo

U$$ 365

U$$ 360

U$$ 360

Hostel: Sol de los Andes

U$$ 340

without hotels

STUDENTS WITH ISIC CARD HAVE A DISCOUNT OF 20 USD

Sacred Valley Tour – Machu Picchu 2d/1n DETAILED ITINERARY: Day 1: CUSCO – PISAQ – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES We will leave Cusco around 8.00 am and drive to Pisaq to see our first Inca ruins of the tour.
